Rising Stone – New Story on Wattpad!

Greetings everyone! It’s been a long while since I did an update. Suffice to say, it’s great to be back!

I’ve got some good news! Apart from Shattered Childhood being updated (slowly, I should mention), a new book has hit my Wattpad account! It’s called Rising Stone, and it’s set in the Werewolf genre. It’s based on a dream I had about werewolves roaming around an alternate version of Earth, and more importantly, it was based on how the pack in my dream inhabited the very school I finished attending.

With the help of a few friends, I started writing it. And now, the first chapter is posted onto Wattpad, and I will be very busy over the holidays writing it.

Here’s the link to said book: https://www.wattpad.com/story/93314376-rising-stone-book-1

Shattered Childhood is now on Wattpad!

Greetings my readers! As you’ve probably guessed by the title of this post, Nothing to Lose: Book 1 – Shattered Childhood is now on Wattpad! The featured image is the temporary cover for it, I designed it by using Canva (https://www.canva.com/), so thanks to them I have a semi decent cover! (Ha!)

The link to the story is here: https://www.wattpad.com/story/82352375-shattered-childhood-nothing-to-lose-book-1

The only issue is that you’ll have to sign up for Wattpad; but it is entirely free. I will create a seperate WordPress blog for the Nothing to Lose series where the chapters are posted, but for the time being, it will have to do with Wattpad for the time being.

Also, I am currently working on Chapter 3 of Shattered Childhood, so be prepared for a new update within the week! I plan to release new chapters everyday, or every second day. It’s not on a definite schedule, but it’ll do.

Thank you, folks! I hope you are blessed with luck.

Also, I’d advise you listen to this cover of Ezio’s Family: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BaW0j7lAfF4

This is the media for the upcoming chapter. You’ll find out why this is included, when I release chapter 3. Until then, that’s all folks!

Nothing to Lose: Shattered Childhood – Nothing to Lose updates!

AS you’ve guessed by the title, I’ve started working on Nothing to Lose, Book 1: Shattered Childhood!

This introduces Ace, a god, of his mysterious and haunted past plauging him during his duties. The head god, Ier, has told him to step down to relieve his past, to learn from it.

I’ve had a sudden burst of the need to write. Now, I will state that Nothing to Lose does have themes of child abuse, and needless to say I have to state that I DO NOT CONDONE CHILD ABUSE. So many times I get slandered for writing something I do not condone. Sometimes, the villain does things the writer would never, ever commit.

Shattered Childhood is about 3 young boys, from the age of 6, going through a wave of abuse, while learning about how life really is. They’re pushed to the extreme, until that is, they figure out how to defeat their abuser at the age of 16. It all continues from there. I expect Shattered Childhood to at least touch upon the boys reaching 23-24, before Book 1 is finished. So far, I’m liking the new approach to the book.

I am still doing Book Reviews! School has gotten in the way of reading and I can barely snag a read of Talon before my next class! Also, guess who’s just preordered the new Pokemon Sun game…..me! Except it’s actually a collector’s edition! It’s my first preorder, aha!

Well, I hope you all have had a good week! May luck befall you~

Upcoming Book Reviews! Updates!

As I’ve previously mentioned in my review Book Review: Harry Potter and The Cursed Child – Spoiler Free Review, Book Reviews are a new thing coming to this blog! Since today is my birthday, I just received more books to read…..and a refurbished MacBook Air! Now that I have a personal laptop to use, it’ll be much easier to write reviews and blog posts!

Without further ado, I shall now list the upcoming Book Reviews!

  • Talon, Book 1 of the Talon book series by Juile Kagawa
  • Rouge, Book 2 of the Talon book series by Julie Kagawa

Status: TBR

  • Deltora Quest #1, Book 1 of the Deltora Quest series by Emily Rodda

Writing wise, I need to get back on track. I’ll start getting back to work on the Worldbuilding of Nothing to Lose soon, as I still need to complete a few other things before I get into writing more lore. Writing an Album Review is not as easy as I thought!

I’m getting back to being online. I’ve been really busy in real life, so getting online today has been such a relief. Then again…..Pokemon Go claims me…..I WILL CATCH THEM ALL!

Until I write again, may you all stay safe and well.

Starting Over – Camp NaNoWriMo

I’ve finally decided that it is best for me to start over on Camp NaNoWriMo. The Forsaken War, will wait for another time, perhaps. However, I will introduce to you, something that’s in Nothing to Lose, but not quite it…..

gfifocc

That’s right! It is, of course, the world-building aspect of Nothing to Lose. The universe of Nothing to Lose needs to be fleshed out before I work on the actual main series first. I know I might’ve said I wanted to take a break from Nothing to Lose a month or so back, but things, new things, have popped up, giving me the motivation to keep writing without burning out on it.

I do have to apologise, however, to those who really wanted to read The Forsaken War. I feel like I’ve disappointed you, but hopefully this apology will suffice.

Alright, time for me to get some rest.

Update – Camp NaNoWriMo

I’m not sure where to go with The Forsaken War, to be quite honest. Everything’s been piled onto me, I’m still not able to get more written, and I feel blocked on The Forsaken War. There’s just….I can’t finish a certain paragraph off, because everything’s just dried my creative juices, and I feel like I’m sinking into Nothing to Lose worldbuilding once more.

So, until I can kick myself to go write more, I won’t be sure if I’m going to finish Camp NaNo or not.

Writing Prompt: Glass

The glass mirror was cracked. And so was he, the man, the creature, that was peering into the glass. Armin could only sigh at what he had become. A monster. He had to kill her, for she wanted an end to her life, but he still felt like one. His hand was bloodied, the glass dropping onto the ground. He was only but a shattered glass fragment in this world of misery.

A quick word prompt. Thought I’d write something that may happen in Nothing to Lose. I’ll bring an update soon about Camp NaNoWriMo.

Camp NaNoWriMo: Week Progress

I am extremely sorry about not being able to write anything since the 3rd of July! This week has been a long one. I have family visiting, and well, I’ve been so busy cleaning and spending time with the visiting family I haven’t had the energy to keep writing more.

Day 2: Wrote, but forgot to put it into the word count meter on Camp NaNoWriMo site.

Day 3: Word count updated! 3,313 words out of 80k words

Day 4: Had the first lot of the family come to see us. Did a little bit of writing, did not update the word count. That day also had a downfall as I saw a brawl go violently wrong. (No one died.) Word count remained at 3,313 words.

Day 5: No writing done this day. The second lot of the family came to see us, and set up the caravan. Word count remained at 3,313 words.

Day 6: I wanted to do some writing today, but because the younger cousins (one 5, other 7) were around, and that The Forsaken War contains quite a bit of crude language, I didn’t write at all in front of them. The dinner that night was very good, and I felt too exhausted that night to do some writing. Word count remained at 3,313 words.

Day 7: Both lots of the family that came up here and I went fish feeding! No writing done that day, alas. The family then are now on a trip to a national park for 4 days. Word count remained at 3,313 words.

Day 8: We’re here! I finally updated the word count. I’m now at 3,600 out of 80,000 words! I’ll do more when I write some more, and it will be in it’s separate post from this.

I hope you all have had a good time! I hope you’ve all been writing like crazy! And without further ado, I must wish you all luck!

Camp NaNoWriMo: Day 1

Hello my readers! It is currently Day 2 here, of Camp NaNoWriMo, but I’ve not written anything today just yet. However, I will like to mention an update!

Firstly, I’ve added a widget to my blog. Can you see it?

Yes, it looks like this!

Thanks to a WordPress user whose post I saw on how to put it into a WordPress blog, I have added a word count tracker! Mainly, a NaNoWriMo tracker.

So, if you are keen to find out my progress on The Forsaken War with words, check there! Or, if you’re on mobile quite frequently like me, you can wait until I post up an update of Camp NaNo here!

Secondly, as seen above, I’ve written 2,942 out of 80,000 words! I actually beat the average word count I should have every day on the first day! WOO! Today, however, I’ve been rather busy, I slept in til 11am (oops), then cleaned for the afternoon, and now it is the afternoon, time for me to start a little more writing, eh?

I’ll keep you all updated! Maybe you’ll see chapters soon….soon..? Hehe.

Busy, Busy, Busy.

The clicking of my fingers hitting the keyboard feels amazing. So far, I’ve written nearly 5k words writing up lore for all of my 74 dragons on Flight Rising. I’ve not been this motivated until now. Maybe because everything is piecing itself together, or if it’s because I am making progress in my journey of identity within society and it’s harsh views. Maybe it is both.

I still struggle with mental illnesses, but I’m getting to my goal. To be happy. Anxiety and Depression may hold me down, but I will break free, with every ounce of strength and determination in my body. Nothing to Lose, is becoming a part of me. While it isn’t my life, it is what I consider my feelings incorporated into a story.

During 2015, it was a very tough year for me. I felt like I was going nowhere. But I had a close friend of mine, who I roleplayed with, who I talked with, almost everyday. My characters became something else entirely. They weren’t just some non-exisiting beings in my head, they were like real people. With their own struggles, their own desires, their own goals. Nothing to Lose used to be just an idea. Now, it is becoming a story that I’ve always wanted to write.

I’ve accomplished some of the mini-goals on my journey. But I must take another step, and become even more motivated.

Thank you, for reading this, fellow bloggers, readers and writers alike. I wish you all well, and may luck be ever in your favour.

~Connor R. Ryan.
