Nothing to Lose: Shattered Childhood – Nothing to Lose updates!

AS you’ve guessed by the title, I’ve started working on Nothing to Lose, Book 1: Shattered Childhood!

This introduces Ace, a god, of his mysterious and haunted past plauging him during his duties. The head god, Ier, has told him to step down to relieve his past, to learn from it.

I’ve had a sudden burst of the need to write. Now, I will state that Nothing to Lose does have themes of child abuse, and needless to say I have to state that I DO NOT CONDONE CHILD ABUSE. So many times I get slandered for writing something I do not condone. Sometimes, the villain does things the writer would never, ever commit.

Shattered Childhood is about 3 young boys, from the age of 6, going through a wave of abuse, while learning about how life really is. They’re pushed to the extreme, until that is, they figure out how to defeat their abuser at the age of 16. It all continues from there. I expect Shattered Childhood to at least touch upon the boys reaching 23-24, before Book 1 is finished. So far, I’m liking the new approach to the book.

I am still doing Book Reviews! School has gotten in the way of reading and I can barely snag a read of Talon before my next class! Also, guess who’s just preordered the new Pokemon Sun game…..me! Except it’s actually a collector’s edition! It’s my first preorder, aha!

Well, I hope you all have had a good week! May luck befall you~

Upcoming Book Reviews! Updates!

As I’ve previously mentioned in my review Book Review: Harry Potter and The Cursed Child – Spoiler Free Review, Book Reviews are a new thing coming to this blog! Since today is my birthday, I just received more books to read…..and a refurbished MacBook Air! Now that I have a personal laptop to use, it’ll be much easier to write reviews and blog posts!

Without further ado, I shall now list the upcoming Book Reviews!

  • Talon, Book 1 of the Talon book series by Juile Kagawa
  • Rouge, Book 2 of the Talon book series by Julie Kagawa

Status: TBR

  • Deltora Quest #1, Book 1 of the Deltora Quest series by Emily Rodda
  • Deltora Quest #2, Book 2 of the Deltora Quest series by Emily Rodda
  • Deltora Quest #3, Book 3 of the Deltora Quest series by Emily Rodda

Status: TBR

Writing wise, I need to get back on track. I’ll start getting back to work on the Worldbuilding of Nothing to Lose soon, as I still need to complete a few other things before I get into writing more lore. Writing an Album Review is not as easy as I thought!

I’m getting back to being online. I’ve been really busy in real life, so getting online today has been such a relief. Then again…..Pokemon Go claims me…..I WILL CATCH THEM ALL!

Until I write again, may you all stay safe and well.

Book Review: Harry Potter and The Cursed Child – Spoiler Free Review

Hello readers! A new thing is arriving to the blog, and that is definitely Book Reviews! The reason why I chose Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was because a friend of mine, lent it to me to read! I sincerely thank her immensely, for this book…oh my, it is so good. Without further ado, I will go onto reviewing it!

——-

First Impression of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

My first impression of the script was that the main character, Albus, was a lonely, bullied child that James would stand up for, but oh my, how I was so wrong! (On a level I was right, haha). But, as I read the book, there was a lot more in stock for me than I had thought.

My thoughts on The Cursed Child (Spoiler Free!)

Albus and Scorpius are the most adorable best friends I’ve ever seen. As I read this book, I felt like I was with them the entire way through their adventure, through even the most dastardly and grim situations. This book took my emotions, and snapped one, little by little. Especially at the near end of the book, where the climax of the book is. I was so afraid of what would happen to little Albus or Scorpius. And I got a fair few laughs from this book as well. Apart from the movies, Draco and Harry in this book learn to be more friendly to each other, and as the story progresses, Harry and Draco have their arguments, but eventually they both realise that they must put their grudges aside in order for them to find Albus and Scorpius as they start poking into things they weren’t supposed to.

Also, I felt so betrayed by a certain character in this book, I thought good things about them, but…..mhm..I cannot reveal, as this is a spoiler free review, and more of the basis of how I felt about this book. I’m not a very good summary maker, and I don’t intend to in the future ahead….

My Rating for The Cursed Child

I give it 5/5 stars, it is wonderfully written, and it took me by surprise, and I could not put this book down for too long as the eagerness in me wanted me to read more. I did find it a bit shorter than the usual series, but seeing as this is a seperate story from the main Harry Potter series, I decided that it wouldn’t effect too much on the rating and the review I give for this book.

——

I would like to give a shout out to a very good book reviewer, @thebookfeedblog! She posts more regularly, and she reviews upcoming books from many indie authors, as well as already published books. She has a variety of things she posts, so go check her out!

I will be doing more book reviews in the future. They’ll be random, at best, as I’ll read a random book from my shelf and review it, if I feel the need to. May you all have luck, my readers.

What do?

It’s the 31st of July for me. And I’ve got to say: Camp NaNo was not successful for me. I have recently just returned back to school, and I am very, very busy. I could not bring myself to write more worldbuilding and I am deeply sorry, again.

On other things, I might be doing book reviews, either on Wattpad books or on already published books….though I’m thinking of both. What are your thoughts on me doing book reviews? Let me know in the comments below.

Starting Over – Camp NaNoWriMo

I’ve finally decided that it is best for me to start over on Camp NaNoWriMo. The Forsaken War, will wait for another time, perhaps. However, I will introduce to you, something that’s in Nothing to Lose, but not quite it…..

gfifocc

That’s right! It is, of course, the world-building aspect of Nothing to Lose. The universe of Nothing to Lose needs to be fleshed out before I work on the actual main series first. I know I might’ve said I wanted to take a break from Nothing to Lose a month or so back, but things, new things, have popped up, giving me the motivation to keep writing without burning out on it.

I do have to apologise, however, to those who really wanted to read The Forsaken War. I feel like I’ve disappointed you, but hopefully this apology will suffice.

Alright, time for me to get some rest.

Update – Camp NaNoWriMo

I’m not sure where to go with The Forsaken War, to be quite honest. Everything’s been piled onto me, I’m still not able to get more written, and I feel blocked on The Forsaken War. There’s just….I can’t finish a certain paragraph off, because everything’s just dried my creative juices, and I feel like I’m sinking into Nothing to Lose worldbuilding once more.

So, until I can kick myself to go write more, I won’t be sure if I’m going to finish Camp NaNo or not.

Camp NaNoWriMo: Week Progress

I am extremely sorry about not being able to write anything since the 3rd of July! This week has been a long one. I have family visiting, and well, I’ve been so busy cleaning and spending time with the visiting family I haven’t had the energy to keep writing more.

Day 2: Wrote, but forgot to put it into the word count meter on Camp NaNoWriMo site.

Day 3: Word count updated! 3,313 words out of 80k words

Day 4: Had the first lot of the family come to see us. Did a little bit of writing, did not update the word count. That day also had a downfall as I saw a brawl go violently wrong. (No one died.) Word count remained at 3,313 words.

Day 5: No writing done this day. The second lot of the family came to see us, and set up the caravan. Word count remained at 3,313 words.

Day 6: I wanted to do some writing today, but because the younger cousins (one 5, other 7) were around, and that The Forsaken War contains quite a bit of crude language, I didn’t write at all in front of them. The dinner that night was very good, and I felt too exhausted that night to do some writing. Word count remained at 3,313 words.

Day 7: Both lots of the family that came up here and I went fish feeding! No writing done that day, alas. The family then are now on a trip to a national park for 4 days. Word count remained at 3,313 words.

Day 8: We’re here! I finally updated the word count. I’m now at 3,600 out of 80,000 words! I’ll do more when I write some more, and it will be in it’s separate post from this.

I hope you all have had a good time! I hope you’ve all been writing like crazy! And without further ado, I must wish you all luck!

Flight Rising Rant

Sorry all, this isn’t something I wanted to talk about but the current situation is just…..so stupid. Crude language ahead.

Okay, Undel, Xhaztol, and the rest of the Flight Rising Admin team. WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU SUSPEND SOMEONE WHO IS WARNING OTHERS TO STAY AWAY AND BLOCK A USER?!

Situation at hand: A Kickstarter/Beta player on Flight Rising was given a 5 day suspension for having a blacklist for a specific user. Normally, yes, blacklists are suspendable content. The thing is, however, that the player suspended had the blacklist OFFSITE. Flight Rising Admins CANNOT ban someone based on things they do offsite, but apparently THEY CAN NOW.

What was the player who got suspended warning people about? A suicide baiter. And the admins have done NOTHING to ban the suicide baiter. Not to mention other things FR admins haven’t banned, liiiiiiiike:

-A pedophile that IS STILL ON SITE
-countless other suicide baiters
-scammers
-multiaccounters (multi accounting is considered cheating and is a bannable offense)
-Neo-nazi (the fucker’s still lurking onsite)
-as well as people who need to be banned for breaking site rules over and over again

these are all the things that FR ADMINS HAVE NOT DONE.

Undel, Xhaztol, and the FR admin team. You disgust me. Am I going to get a warning now, because I posted something offsite? Because I’m discussing account actions?

FR admins, do not fucking victim blame and further more DO NOT ABUSE YOUR ADMIN POWER. That’s just fucking shitty.

I conclude my rant. Again, deeply sorry. This isn’t what I wanted to talk about, but because I needed to rant about it, it had to happen.

Camp NaNoWriMo: Day 1

Hello my readers! It is currently Day 2 here, of Camp NaNoWriMo, but I’ve not written anything today just yet. However, I will like to mention an update!

Firstly, I’ve added a widget to my blog. Can you see it?

jevrfzj

Yes, it looks like this!

4pwkb38

Thanks to a WordPress user whose post I saw on how to put it into a WordPress blog, I have added a word count tracker! Mainly, a NaNoWriMo tracker.

So, if you are keen to find out my progress on The Forsaken War with words, check there! Or, if you’re on mobile quite frequently like me, you can wait until I post up an update of Camp NaNo here!

Secondly, as seen above, I’ve written 2,942 out of 80,000 words! I actually beat the average word count I should have every day on the first day! WOO! Today, however, I’ve been rather busy, I slept in til 11am (oops), then cleaned for the afternoon, and now it is the afternoon, time for me to start a little more writing, eh?

I’ll keep you all updated! Maybe you’ll see chapters soon….soon..? Hehe.

Outlining Nothing to Lose, among other things

It is the start of the school holidays for me! As well as the start of a long set of holidays busily writing!

So far, I’ve outlined up to Chapter 4 of Nothing to Lose, and I’ve written bios for 24 out of 73 dragons! It’s………it’s a lot of writing. X-X Each bio is roughly 200 words each, some having more or less in them. I have a Google Docs document, detailing each dragon’s bio, with jobs, sexuality, what relationship status they are, as well as their personal quote/motto.

Here’s a gif for all of the dragons I’ve done so far:

xn9tqb48wo

As you may notice, there are a lot of dragons with a surname. Those dragons, are actually Nothing to Lose characters. Some, are fandragons, but none of the fandragons have lore for them just yet.

This is a shorter than usual post, but it’s all I have for now. I may update later, who knows?

That’s all, fellow writers. May luck be ever in your favour.
